I brought a Muiracatiara Pandora wood bead for my daughter that is found in the rain forests of Brazil. Its distinctive orange brown colour and irregular pattern of black stripes make it different from others. It is a very hard and dense wood and will darken in colour over time. The flowers of the Muiracatiara attract honey bees and the local people use it for collecting honey. It is also said to be one of the favourite nesting sites for the Lilac-crowned Parrot.
